Description
ELEGOO ABS is an industrial-grade filament with high strength and impact resistance. It handles both heat and cold well, making it a solid choice for functional parts, automotive and mechanical components, and outdoor projects. Compared to PLA, ABS is noticeably tougher on impact and tolerates higher temperatures — but it needs more careful print tuning.
Print Settings
- Nozzle temperature: 220–250 °C
- Bed temperature: 90–100 °C
- Print speed: 60–150 mm/s
- Diameter: 1.75 mm, 1 kg spool
- Heated bed and enclosure required
ABS shows its best on printers with an enclosure and a heated bed — Bambu Lab P1S and X1C, QIDI, plus Creality and other models with a chamber. Finished parts can be acetone-smoothed for a glossy surface. It's a great pick for enclosures, brackets, gears, and any part where strength and heat resistance matter.
Frequently asked questions
Yes, it's required. ABS warps badly with drafts and sudden cooling, so a stable chamber atmosphere and a 90–100 °C heated bed are non-negotiable. On an open-frame printer the corners of large parts will lift off the bed.
