About STL and 3MF
STL (STereoLithography) is the most common 3D model format for 3D printing. It describes the surface of a model as a set of triangles.
3MF (3D Manufacturing Format) is a modern format that supports colour, materials, and metadata. Technically it's a zip archive with an XML description.
