Description

The Flashforge Adventurer 5M Pro is an enclosed high-speed FDM printer featuring CoreXY kinematics and an all-metal frame. Designed for a wide range of users — from beginners to experienced makers who value stable printing in a sealed chamber. Its standout feature is the combination of speeds up to 600 mm/s, dual-layer air filtration, and quiet operation from 50 dB.

The build volume is 220×220×220 mm with acceleration up to 20,000 mm/s². The printer uses a direct-drive extruder with a maximum nozzle temperature of 280 °C and supports PLA, PETG, ABS, ASA, TPU and carbon fiber composites (PLA-CF, PETG-CF) with 0.6/0.8 mm nozzles. The PEI-coated bed heats up to 110 °C. The quick-swap nozzle system allows changing diameters in seconds — 0.25, 0.4, 0.6 and 0.8 mm options are available.

Advantages

  • Enclosed chamber with dual-layer filtration (HEPA + activated carbon) — blocks 99% of particles and VOCs, safe for homes and classrooms
  • Quiet operation: 50 dB in low-noise mode and 55 dB in standard — comfortable for overnight printing
  • Print accuracy of ±0.2 mm with 0.05 mm tolerance per 3DPrint.com tests — smooth surfaces thanks to vibration compensation
  • Speed Benchy in 17 minutes — 5-6 times faster than the previous-generation Adventurer 4
  • Easy setup: ready to print in 12 minutes, one-button automatic bed leveling
  • Quick-release nozzles — switching between 0.4 and 0.6 mm takes seconds with no tools required

Disadvantages

  • TPU printing requires reducing speed to 30-40 mm/s — flexible filament may jam in the extruder
  • Replacement nozzles cost $30 each — noticeably more expensive than competitors with universal nozzles
  • Low-resolution 640×480 webcam — sufficient for monitoring but not for quality timelapses
  • Auto-leveling sometimes requires multiple attempts — Z-offset may not calibrate correctly on the first try

The Adventurer 5M Pro suits beginners who need a reliable out-of-the-box printer with minimal setup, and experienced users who value an enclosed chamber for ABS/ASA. A solid choice for educational institutions thanks to air filtration and quiet operation.

For its price, the Flashforge Adventurer 5M Pro delivers an enclosed CoreXY with filtration, a camera, and consistent print quality. TPU limitations and the modest 220 mm build volume are trade-offs worth considering when making your choice.
