Description
ELEGOO ASA is built for outdoor and load-bearing parts that need to survive years of sun and rain. It matches ABS for strength and impact resistance, but unlike ABS it won't yellow or crack under UV — color and shape hold up even after long outdoor exposure. It also handles heat better than PLA and PETG, keeping its shape where PLA would sag.
Print Settings
- Nozzle temperature: 240–260 °C
- Bed temperature: 90–100 °C
- Print speed: 50–100 mm/s
- Diameter: 1.75 mm, ±0.02 mm tolerance
- Enclosure and heated bed required
ASA is the go-to for enclosures, brackets, mounts, and automotive or garden parts that have to live outdoors. It's happiest on printers with a closed chamber — Bambu Lab X1C and P1S, QIDI X-Plus, Creality K1, and similar. On an open-frame bedslinger without an enclosure, large parts may warp.
Frequently asked questions
Yes. ASA shrinks as it cools and is very sensitive to drafts, so it needs a closed chamber with a heated bed at 90–100 °C. On an open-frame printer without an enclosure, the corners of larger parts will peel off the bed.
