Description

The Bambu Lab P2S is the updated version of the legendary P1S, the successor to Bambu Lab's best-selling CoreXY printer. It inherits second-generation technology from the H2 series: a PMSM servo extruder with up to 8.5 kg of feed force, a 5-inch touchscreen, AI print monitoring, and compatibility with the new AMS 2 Pro. The price remains at the P1S level — $549 for the base version.

The P2S is built on a CoreXY frame with a fully enclosed chamber. The build volume is 256x256x256 mm. The nozzle reaches 300 °C and the bed reaches 110 °C, supporting PLA, PETG, ABS, ASA, TPU, PA, PC, and carbon fiber composites. Maximum toolhead speed is 600 mm/s with acceleration up to 20,000 mm/s². Activated carbon VOC filtration and the enclosed chamber ensure safe ABS printing indoors. Maximum power consumption is 1,200 W.

Advantages

  • PMSM DynaSense servo extruder — 70% more feed force than the previous generation, stable extrusion with composites and TPU
  • Best price-to-technology ratio in the Bambu Lab lineup — for $549 you get a servo extruder, AI monitoring, and touchscreen from the H2 series
  • AMS 2 Pro compatible — built-in filament drying with the lid closed, automatic RFID setup for Bambu Lab materials
  • Compact and lightweight — 14.9 kg and 392x406x478 mm dimensions, fits on a regular desk without special setup
  • Tom's Hardware Editor's Choice Award — recognized as one of the best 3D printers for speed, quality, and ease of use
  • Linux support (Bambu Studio) — works with MacOS, Windows, and Linux, plus third-party slicers PrusaSlicer and Cura

Disadvantages

  • No active chamber heating — unlike H2S/H2D, not suitable for PPS and high-temperature engineering materials
  • Nozzle limited to 300 °C — 50 °C lower than the H2 series, restricting some composite materials
  • Single monitoring camera — the H2S has 3 cameras and 23 sensors, the P2S has simpler AI control
  • No laser or cutting modules — 3D printing only, for multi-function capabilities you need the H2S or H2D

The Bambu Lab P2S is the optimal choice for those who need a reliable, fast, and easy-to-use CoreXY printer. It works well as a first serious printer for an advanced maker or as a workhorse for small businesses. If you need a larger build volume or engineering materials with chamber heating, choose the H2S instead.

The P2S is the sweet spot in the Bambu Lab lineup: modern technology from the flagship H2 series in a proven compact form factor at an accessible price. The P1S heritage guarantees reliability, while the updated internals ensure relevance for years to come.
