Description
SUNLU TPU-Silk is a flexible TPU filament with a silk-textured surface. It blends rubber-like elasticity with the soft pearlescent sheen of silk filaments, so it works for both functional flexible parts and decorative models. The key difference of this line is that prints come out soft to the touch yet glossy straight off the bed, with no post-processing.
Print Settings
- Nozzle temperature: 210–230 °C
- Bed temperature: 30–50 °C
- Print speed: up to 50–60 mm/s on direct drive, 20–30 mm/s on Bowden
- 0.8–1.2 mm wall gives maximum softness; 5–15 % infill with a wall of 1.2 mm or more adds springiness and stiffness
- Elasticity: elongation at break up to 1397 %, impact strength 52.6 kJ/m²
This line is great for flexible cases, straps, gaskets, vibration-damping inserts and decorative models with a silk sheen. Avoid very tall models with large overhangs — the top section can show nozzle cuts and wobble. A heated bed and a hardened nozzle are not required, so it prints on most consumer FDM machines.
Frequently asked questions
No enclosure is needed. A heated bed (30–50 °C) helps adhesion, but many TPU-Silk colors print fine on a cold bed with glue. A hardened nozzle isn't required either — the material isn't abrasive.
