Description

The Anycubic Photon Mono 2 is a budget entry-level resin printer built around a 4K monochrome LCD. It suits newcomers to resin printing and anyone making miniatures, figurines and small, highly detailed models. Its standout feature is a large 6.6-inch 4K screen with a 34 µm pixel at an entry-level price.

The build volume is 143×89×165 mm (2.09 L), about 20% larger than the Photon Mono 4K it replaces. The monochrome screen has a 4096×2560 (4K) resolution for a 34 µm XY resolution, and the upgraded LighTurbo matrix delivers an even parallel UV light source (405 nm) that removes grid lines. Print speed reaches up to 50 mm/h, the Z axis runs on a single rail with 10 µm accuracy, control is via a 2.8-inch color touchscreen, and files load from a USB drive.

Pros

  • High detail: the 4K screen and 34 µm pixel produce crisp edges and fine details — a good pick for miniatures
  • Affordable entry-level price with a build volume of 143×89×165 mm that is large for its class
  • Simple operation: a color touchscreen with just three menus — Print, System, Tools
  • Improved Photon Workshop 3.0 slicer — easier model layout and support handling
  • Rich accessory kit: scrapers, screen protector, gloves, masks, test models and software on USB

Cons

  • Manual 4-point bed leveling only — no auto leveling
  • Plastic base and cover, and no Wi-Fi — USB connection only
  • The light 4 kg body can slide on the desk; rubber feet would have helped

The Photon Mono 2 fits anyone trying resin printing for the first time who wants an inexpensive printer for miniatures, tabletop figures, busts and small high-detail prototypes. It is an entry-level machine, not meant for large objects or production workflows.

Bottom line: one of the most affordable ways to get 4K detail in resin printing — great quality for the money in exchange for manual leveling and a plastic shell.
