Description
The Anycubic Photon M3 Plus is a large-format resin (LCD/MSLA) printer from the third-generation Photon M3 line, aimed at miniature painters, modelers and small workshops. Its main draw is a large build volume paired with a 9.25-inch 6K monochrome LCD and an automatic resin filling system.
The build volume is 197×122×245 mm (5.9 L), and the 6K monochrome screen at 5760×3600 px delivers roughly 34 µm XY detail, with 10 µm Z-axis accuracy. The Anycubic LighTurbo light source is a parallel matrix of 40 LEDs (405 nm) with even exposure and a 350:1 contrast ratio. Maximum print speed is rated up to 100 mm/h, with single-layer exposure dropping to about 1.5 seconds in practice. Control is via a 5-inch touchscreen, and file transfer and remote start work over USB, LAN and the Anycubic Cloud.
Pros
- Large 197×122×245 mm build volume — print tall models whole or batch many miniatures in one run
- 9.25" 6K mono LCD with 34 µm detail — reviewers rate it the best print quality in the M3 line
- Automatic resin filling: the system tops up the vat from a bottle and stops when the level is sufficient
- Laser-engraved aluminum build plate improves first-layer adhesion and print success rate
- Anycubic Cloud, Wi-Fi/LAN and a touchscreen make file transfer and remote print start convenient
Cons
- Loud fans — reviewers report it's noisy and recommend not placing it near a bedroom or living room
- The Photon Workshop slicer is slow and can choke when exporting large or many models at once
- The auto-filling system doesn't fit every resin bottle, and the cloud requires a mobile device
- Short LCD warranty (about 3 months vs 12 on other parts) — the screen is a consumable
The Photon M3 Plus fits anyone who needs a large build volume with high detail: modelers, tabletop miniature painters, jewelers and small-batch workshops. The automatic resin filling removes the worry of topping up the vat during long prints.
Bottom line: one of the most balanced large-format resin printers of its time — excellent detail and convenient auto-filling in exchange for loud fans and a slow stock slicer.
