Description
The Elegoo Neptune 4 Pro is a budget FDM bedslinger with Klipper flashed at the factory. It's for people who want fast PLA and PETG without paying for an enclosure or CoreXY. Against the plain Neptune 4 it swaps V-wheels for linear rods on X and Y.
Build volume is 225×225×265 mm, rated for 500 mm/s at 20,000 mm/s², though Elegoo suggests 250 mm/s. The hotend hits 300 °C and the bed 110 °C, so ABS, ASA, TPU and nylon join PLA and PETG. A dual-gear direct drive with 5.2:1 reduction feeds it, and the bundled speed Benchy finishes in 18 minutes.

- Linear rods on X and Y instead of V-wheels — rare under $300, with no eccentric nuts to chase

Cons
- Leveling takes three passes: manual tramming on four corner knobs, a 121-point auto mesh, then the Z-offset — Tom's Hardware calls it the main weak point and a step back from the Neptune 3 Pro, and the knobs shake loose
- Sport fan mode sounds like a leaf blower — reviewers hear it through a closed door, so it's no bedroom printer
- No Wi-Fi: files arrive over Ethernet or a USB drive, and wireless needs a dongle that usually means alternative firmware
- Mainboard and screen firmware update separately and must match, or the screen hangs on the loading logo; the nozzle thread is proprietary, so MK8 nozzles don't fit
It suits functional parts, enclosures and medium prototypes if you don't mind turning a knob under the bed occasionally. Beginners get a 15-to-30-minute assembly and ready-made slicer profiles; tinkerers get open electronics — a LAN web interface, custom macros and alternative firmware.
Bottom line: a fast workhorse with strong cooling and unlocked electronics for little money, paid for with hands-on leveling, fan noise and a wired connection.
