Description

The Anycubic Kobra S1 is an enclosed CoreXY FDM printer that brings fast multi-color printing to the budget segment. It suits both beginners — it prints well out of the box — and experienced users who want speed and an enclosed chamber for ABS and ASA.

The build volume is 250×250×250 mm, with print speeds up to 600 mm/s and acceleration up to 20,000 mm/s². The direct-drive extruder with a hardened nozzle reaches 320 °C, and the PEI spring-steel heated bed goes up to 120 °C, covering PLA, PETG, TPU, ABS and ASA. The fully enclosed frame retains chamber heat (passively, without active heating), and 4- or 8-color printing is handled by the separate ACE Pro auto-feeding system, which doubles as a filament dryer.

Pros

  • Excellent print quality with little tuning — reviewers rate it among the best for PLA, PETG, ABS and even polycarbonate
  • Enclosed CoreXY up to 600 mm/s — retains chamber heat for ABS/ASA while printing fast
  • Quiet operation: ≤46 dB in standard mode and ≤44 dB in quiet mode — fine for a living room
  • LeviQ3.0 auto leveling with Z-offset, filament sensor and power-loss recovery
  • 4- or 8-color printing via the ACE Pro system, which also dries filament
  • Official warranty and support in Russia at an accessible base price

Cons

  • Multi-color printing wastes a lot of filament on purging during color changes, and the stock slicer doesn't show the real purge amount
  • Proprietary components and enclosed electronics limit customization and make repairs harder
  • Rough software: glitches and translation quirks; owners report the webcam often drops on timeout
  • Multi-color requires the ACE Pro system as a separate purchase — the Combo bundle costs noticeably more than the base unit

The Kobra S1 fits anyone who wants a ready-to-run enclosed printer for home or a small workshop: fast printing of functional parts, prototypes and models, and multi-color objects with the ACE Pro add-on. It's a solid step up from an open bedslinger to an enclosed CoreXY without overpaying.

Bottom line: one of the most balanced enclosed CoreXY printers in its price class — great print quality and quiet operation in exchange for a closed ecosystem and somewhat raw software.
