Elegoo Saturn 4

The Elegoo Saturn 4 is the plain fourth-generation Saturn: same 10-inch 12K monochrome LCD as the Ultra, but no tilting vat, no Wi-Fi and no camera. It's for people who want the detail and vat size of the bigger machines without paying for remote monitoring.

Build volume is 218.88 × 122.88 × 220 mm and the panel runs 11520 × 5120 with non-square 19 × 24 μm pixels. Layer heights go from 0.01 to 0.2 mm, Z accuracy is 0.02 mm, and the light source is a 405 nm COB array behind a Fresnel lens. Prints peel off on a straight vertical lift, capping speed at 70 mm/h — half of what the Saturn 4 Ultra manages. Control is a 3.5-inch resistive touchscreen, the firmware speaks Chinese and English only, and files arrive on a USB stick.

Pros

• Same panel and pixel pitch as the Saturn 4 Ultra — miniature detail is identical, only the peel speed differs
• Automatic leveling off a mechanical sensor — 3DWithUs, which scored it 4.8 out of 5, calls it a headline feature alongside the price
• Hinged flip-back lid: no hood to lift off and park, so the machine needs less bench space
• Pre-print self-check plus sensors for low resin and cured debris, so a print won't start on top of a failed one
• It holds up long term: Bristle Ink ran 442,000 layers over a year of daily printing on the factory PFA film with no adhesion failures

Cons

• USB stick only — no Wi-Fi, no camera; 3DWithUs lists the missing wireless as the one real flaw here
• 70 mm/h against the Ultra's 150 mm/h: every layer peels the slow way, so tall models take noticeably longer
• The build plate got bulkier and barely fits the Elegoo Mercury wash station — the reviewer washed prints separately instead
• Rough edges on day one: ChituBox throws an "Inconsistent Slicing and Projection Resolution" error until you correct the resolution in machine settings, and the self-check can wrongly report a worn film

It suits anyone printing miniatures, busts and master models in batches who doesn't mind carrying a USB stick and isn't chasing speed. As a first resin machine with a big vat it's a calm choice: leveling is handled, everything else is hands-on. Want network printing, a camera and twice the speed? That's the Saturn 4 Ultra.

Bottom line: the detail of the pricier Saturns for the least money, paid for with 70 mm/h and no connectivity at all.
