Elegoo Mars 4 Ultra

The Elegoo Mars 4 Ultra is a compact MSLA resin printer with a 7-inch 9K monochrome LCD. What sets it apart from the plain Mars 4: an ACF release film, a four-screw plate mount instead of a ball joint, and Wi-Fi. No tilting vat, no resin heater — the speed comes from the film.

Build volume is 153×78×165 mm, the screen runs 8520×4320 at an 18 μm pixel, and rated speed is 150 mm/h. Layer height runs 0.01–0.2 mm with 0.02 mm Z accuracy. A 405 nm COB array with a Fresnel lens cures the resin, 9H tempered glass shields the panel, and files come over dual-band Wi-Fi or on a stick.

Pros

• 18 μm pixel against last generation's 35 μm: Goonhammer printed the same bust on both, and the gap shows on curves and eyes — primer doesn't hide it
• The ACF film cuts peel force: LIDER-3D printed a pair of figures in 6:43 versus 8:57 on the base Mars 4
• Four screws hold the plate instead of a ball joint — Goonhammer's best reason to pay for the Ultra: level once and forget it
• Dual-band Wi-Fi holds a solid link: the iXBT reviewer sends models straight from ChiTuBox instead of carrying a stick out
• The deeply laser-etched plate releases a test slab easily; the same slab had to be pried off a Mars 3
• The carbon air purifier is included and runs only during a print, saving filter life

Cons

• The ACF film scatters light slightly: surfaces look glossier, and 3DSourced found fine texture softer than it should be
• The 150 mm/h figure assumes the fast profile at 0.1 mm layers; back at a normal 0.05 mm, print time roughly doubles
• Leveling is manual across four screws: 3DSourced found the supplied card too thick, and 3DJake calls the vat screws a pain to clean
• At launch Wi-Fi worked only from Voxeldance Tango and wouldn't flash firmware; the 24 V USB port under the hood is for the filter and will fry a flash drive

It's aimed at tabletop miniatures, busts, jewellery masters and small precision parts: the narrow 153×78 mm plate means big models get cut up, but 18 μm resolves cloth and facial detail.

Bottom line: one of the most detailed printers in its class; the speed rides on the ACF film, paid for with softer surfaces and manual leveling.
